The Dickinson Memorial Library has 5 hotspots available for checkout. These devices are easy to use and come with instructions. We try to allow as many patrons as possible use this services, but it is limited, so may not always be available. Feel free to call or email ahead to see if there is a hotspot available. Reservations are not allowed.
Dickinson Memorial Library Hotspot Policy
The Dickinson Memorial Library is pleased to offer wireless Hotspot devices for loan to library patrons. You may borrow the device to access the Internet for free at your home, in your car, or anywhere else there is cell phone service! All of these rules are to ensure that hotspots are available to as many members of the community as possible. Sharing is caring!
Who can borrow a library Hotspot?
- Any CWMARS library card holder, age 18 and older.
- Patron account must be in good standing (no unpaid fees or lost materials)
- The library reserves the right to refuse service to anyone who abuses equipment or is repeatedly late in returning Hotspots.
- The library reserves the right to limit the number of times a person borrows the Hotspot to ensure its use by a broad number of patrons.
- Only one hotspot is allowed per household. Each hotspot will support up to 10 connected devices.
Where do I return the Hotspot when I am done?
The Hotspot must be returned in person to the Dickinson Memorial Library. It cannot be returned to another library. A staff person will do a visual check to ensure that the device and accessories are returned in good condition.
How long can I keep the Hotspot?
You can keep it for 7 days.
Can Hotspots be reserved?
No. Hotspots are available on a first come, first serve basis.
Can I renew my Hotspot?
To renew a hotspot, you must check in with the library. There are no online renewals. A hotspot will only be renewed if there is another hotspot available on the shelf for other patrons. If there is not a hotspot available on the shelf, then you will have to return the hotspot and check back in to see if one is available in 48 hours.
What are late return fines?
Fines are $5 a day. If Hotspot is not returned to the library within 48 hours of when it is due, wireless service will be disconnected and the Hotspot will be unusable.
What happens if I lose it?
The cardholder will be charged for any Hotspot or accessory not returned to the library or returned damaged.

Acceptable Use
Borrowers will adhere to the library’s internet acceptable use policy when using the mobile hotspot. This policy can be found on our website.
While checked out, the hotspot remains the responsibility of the borrower. Borrowers should not lose control of the device by lending to friends or associates.
Attempts to alter the configuration of the hotspot is prohibited and may result in loss of borrowing privileges.

The Library is not responsible for any files, data or personal information accessed/transmitted using the hotspot. The Library will have no liability for direct, indirect or consequential damages related to the use of the mobile hotspots, including loss of data, or privacy invasions. Those who use the hotspots do so at their own risk and assume full liability for their actions.
Hotspot users are accessing the internet through the T-Mobile network, not the Library’s network.
Illegal acts involving Library equipment or services may also be subject to prosecution.
International roaming is not available on Library Hotspots.
